Yellow, in Singapore was used in a project called the Yellow Ribbon Project. It's a meaningful project to help ex-mates rebuild their life and expel the discrimination by ignorant folks. (I'm doing a deed for my pal who's promoting this for the past weekends.)

Yellow, in UK was used by Coldplay for the tile of a song. There's no meaning of yellow to the lyrics, though it remained as one of my favourite song and MV. (The MV was filmed in one shot with sun rising effects at the back and the singer just walked and walked on the no-man beach.)
Yellow. It was used in China to represent the King. No commoners can wear yellow. Cause yellow meant the dragon, the King. (Dunno why they did not used gold though.)
The Land of Smiles, Thailand, had the same concept as China too. Yellow shows the support for the King. King Bhumibol. The King who's been around for 60 years. The King who had the invisible magic power that makes every Thai believe in him and listen to him.

Soldiers were seen with a yellow scarves tied on their arm as an act of support for the King. With a kid handling a rose out to the soldier. How sweet and nice. Although in a seems-to-be tension moment, everyone remains peaceful and nice. This is how Thailand should be. Isnt it?
And I just had to be amused by this news on Yahoo.
I had packed my bag in my trusty yellow luggage (See: Support). I'm ready to embark to the Smiling Land. ^^
