yoz, wassup, mate~
(I'm lazy to blog the tons of pics from aussie trip. 329 photos no thanks to my paparaazi ah mei. lol.)
So to blog to remember coz of my limited hard disk in my head, one must make use of softwares and products people invented.
Slideshows, i.e.
So here goes recollection in my brain:
The two gals took a flight after my thunderstorm day (Of which I recieved my results and oh shit), reaching Melbourne at the wee hours of 5.30am. It's so brr-ing cold when we reached and we hopped on a taxi droven by a o'grandfather. He doesnt look like he'll bring us to the wild n chop us up. lol. He even give us a bit of tour guide along the way. So we reached hotel 30mins later and got served by a hotel personnel who seems pissed for his midnight shift. Whatever, we took the keys and slumbled on our bed for an hour before heading out. As Melbourne is 2h later than our time, we woke up at their lunch time. Next to our hotel is a breakfast lane, and we picked one less crowded shop and kena carroted $40 for breakfast. Gulp. Afterwhich we start to shop til dawn. Shop shut down at their time 6pm (which is our 4pm....) We saw a demostration going on in the middle of melbourne city and they were a mixture of asking for aboriginal rights and etc. Nothing violent going on with everyone stopping and looking at them while some aussie shouted to them, "Go Get A JOB!!"
^^"""
Sunday:
The next day we went Queen Victoria's Market. We gobbled up the superb nice burtwurst(?) sausage before any photo was taken. It’s spicy pork sausage in a hotdog bun, topped with marinated cabbage and pickles and mustard. After which, we went to watch the Penguin Parade at Philip's Island. It was raining heavily when we reached and while waiting for the driver to give us our ticket, it stopped. The rain is like.... 3mins? But thank god, or not we wont get to see the penguins well. And so we went standing on the platform awaiting the penguins to return home. (Penguins are sensitive to flashes and so no pictures....) One by one, they return from the ocean while the humans stare at them, squealing away after standing, facing the wind and cold for half an hour like a dumb dumb. They would stand and check out the place before telling their mates that it's safe to return. And all will stand at the beach before waddling into the bushes to their home. And all humans will then waddle back onto the trail where we saw the penguins walking beside us. KAWAII~~~ Penguins are as noisy as humans. While we are screaming "so cute!", I think they are squealing, "Lame. It's the humans AGAIN." LOL.
We end our day, returning and having a super duper heavy dinner. Note: their soup of the day is hor-fun container size and with a garlic loaf that is bout twice of pizza hut's.
Monday:
The next day we went to the Great Ocean Road. It's cold, full of natural geographical formations and cold and windy and cold and windy and cold. Our driver cum tour guide looks like Kevin Bacon (if I don’t remember wrongly, that actor is Kevin Bacon. Lol.) He can memorise everything along the Great Ocean Road. I was concussed from lunch til the 12th apostle, which is 1.5hr later. We set off at 8am (MelB time), back in city at about 8pm. I think I was awake for 5hr and asleep for the rest of the time. LMAO.
Tuesday:
It’s the last day in Melbourne and we chiong to Melbourne Central and a QV centre that we cant find the entrance. Lol. We spend a long while in Melbourne Central, not forgetting to pack 2 dozens of Krispy Kreme for Ah tian, not before we realised there’s one Krispy Kreme RIGHT AT THE CORNER OF OUR HOTEL STREET! Pengz. The most satisfying food for the days as we had vietnamese noodles (8 bucks) for lunch and super valued bento (12 bucks) for dinner. We are Asian afterall. Lol.
Wednesday:
Off we flew to Perth amidst the Qantas engineer strike. 29 domestic flights were cancelled on that day (only got to know when I’m back. Like phew~). Finally met up with Tiany, nallA and Ben. Had a super sumptuous dinner at “The World’s Best Pizza”. Then went to King’s Park for fresh air and to Burswood casino and throw 25 bucks away at the money-eating-jackpot-machine before dragging ah mei home. Lol.
Thursday:
Went to AQWA, their aquarium-underwater-world. They really had that same moving track thing inside the aquarium but there’s much more to see there. There’s seal, stingrays, a small alligator or (was it crocodile?) and a touchpool where the guys flipped the starfish over to which we witness a starfish flipped back!! But we were more absorbed at this chaos out in the sea where there seems to be group of whales/sharks/stingrays/thing flipping around in the sea. Til now we still had no idea what’s that, even after spending 2 bucks on the telescope, trying to see what it is. Then its shopping again as we charge to Carousel. Skimming around for an hour, we went off for dinner at Ciaoz Italia where we were served humongous portion for the xxx times. But this time it’s so huge a portion that ang moh can finished it! But the food was nice! The mushrooms were plentiful and the prawns were so fresh! After being stuffed by food, we went back to carousel to watch KUNGFU PANDA!!!! Aussie cinema did not issue seat numbers at the tickets, therefore if you want to catch a Hollywood blockbuster, you have to start queuing an hour earlier, like WHAAAA.... If this system is implemented in SG, I think I will need to queue at dawn (think: mcdonald n the hello kitty craze). There’s a lot of Asians watching kungfu panda. Well, OF COURSE. Haha!
Friday:
Went to Wildlife park and saw so many animals upfront. Where we walked into the enclosed area with geese, kangeroos, lambs/goats, llama, are just beside us. I always thought wombat is small, didnt know it so big and lazy-looking. lol. Wallaby, the relative of kangeroo. Tasmania devil which looked nothing like the cartoon. And Koala. And "Koala is not a bear." lol. A quote heard so frequently. Drizzle were on and off the whole day. After which went to Swan Valley where we 'ate' our teatime. It was sampling of chocolates and wine. Complimentary of Margaret River and Lancester. Shopping is next as we went to Harbourtown and bought factory outlet stuffs. Nightfall and we went to the city area for more late night shopping. Had yummy Korean food. It's my official sit-down dinner for korean food since... years ago when I visited S.Korea. And it's yummy. I'm simply craving for hot and spicy food when the Kimchi stew arrived.
Saturday:
Fremantle day. Went to Fremantle, ate Fish & Chips and now I'm lazy to blog. Weather was very nice there. The sky, the sun and the sea. Lovin' it. Went Harboutown (again!) to continue our venture before we went to ktv. The hot milk tea with pearl is nice~ Wonder if Taipei has it.... wonder how's my caramel milk tea doing in XMD.... wonder how's the weather there... wonder if my XXL chicken cutlet in shilin still there.... wonder if wonstar hotel still as comfty.... *snaps* After ktv-ing, went for shanghainese food and its another yummy treat. Bo bianz, i'm asian, i still lurve our food.
Sunday:
Woke up early and off to airport. And *sings* that's what its all about... Those who cant wait to go home have to wait for another 2 days. The two who cant wait NOT to go home is reporting to work on Monday. Anywayz, its friday now and the 3 no-longer-students are back in SG.
I can't wait to go bangkok and taipei (yes again).
